The Proceedings of the conference will be included in the IEEEXplore digital library and indexed by EI. Approximately 20% of the conference papers will be selected to be considered for the publication in the IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications. In the light of concerns on the depletion and rising cost of non-renewable energy resources, the energy security and access, and the environmental impacts of energy usage, and at the same time with distributed and clean energy generation becoming widespread and important, it is to launch the inaugural IEEE International Conference on Sustainable Energy Technologies in 2008. This is the first of a regular series of international biennial conferences to bring together professionals and executives in the energy sector, electrical power companies, manufacturing industries, research institutes and educational bodies to share and exchange ideas and information pertaining to sustainable energy technologies. The scope of the conference includes solar photovoltaic and thermal energy, wind energy systems, fuel cells systems, other renewable and alternate energy systems, energy storage systems, energy efficiency in utilization, intelligent energy transmission and distribution, electrical energy market management and economics, and environmental issues. Besides technical paper presentations, there will be tutorials, plenary sessions, special and invited sessions, and an exhibition.
